A universal wooden handle is not included in the product. You should use the standard handle for rakes, measuring 150 x 2.4 cm. The handle is available at any well-stocked agricultural store.
If there are no sharp rocks in the garden, using the Pendulum Hoe Alma is easy. The blade is made of durable heat-treated steel, so it won't get damaged easily. If the blade becomes dull or gets minor damages, sharpen it again using an iron or metal file (but don't use an electric grinder).
Plants spaced more than 15 cm apart won't be harmed. The proper technique and "clip-clop" system allow for work even at smaller distances between plants. Using the right technique will prevent damage to closely spaced plants.
The Pendulum Hoe Alma is also suitable for use in fruit and ornamental gardens. Some organic farmers even use it in cornfields and vineyards. The tool is versatile and can be used on various surfaces.
On hard and compacted soil, first, moisten the surface with water. However, make sure that the soil is not overly wet. Work when the soil doesn't stick to the tools and shoes.
